Spreading Holiday Cheer: Supporting Our Local Flamborough Food Bank and Margaret’s Place Hospice

The Flamborough food bank strives to “provide supplementary food and access to support programs for Flamborough families in a dignified and respectful manner.” The food bank grocery store allows community members to shop there free of cost bi- weekly. With the belief that access to nutritious food should be a basic human right, the food bank values nutrition education and advocacy programs that lead toward self-sufficiency and sustainable food systems. The Flamborough food bank has served over 463 local families, with 47% of the people served being children.
To help support the Flamborough food bank and local families this holiday season, the food bank is asking for the following items:
- Oatmeal
- Canned vegetables
- (including beans and tomatoes)
- Peanut butter
- Rice
