Warm Weather, Warmer Muscles
The Spring Sports Warm-Up Guide
Now that it’s starting to get warmer, you hear the courts and fields call your name. While it’s tempting to just jump right back into your sport after waiting all winter long, you can’t forget to warm up! Whether you’re 20 or 85, stretching before activity is important to prevent strains, sprains, and the “why-is-this-hurting?” moments the next day.
Here’s a simple routine to loosen up your muscles and prepare your body for movement this spring and summer!
LOWER BODY
Lower body stretches are very important, especially for any sports that require a lot of walking, jumping, or pivoting.
- Some stretches include:
- Front to back leg swing
- Sideways leg swing
- Handwalks
- Power skip

Conclusion
Whether you’re about to hit the pickleball court, or about to make your first golf swing of the day, remember to start with a solid warm-up routine. Simple stretches are a small step that can lead to smoother movements, better performance, and a less achy body the next day! Make sure to stay hydrated and have a proper cooldown as well!
